It’s almost time for Easter, which also means Shrove Tuesday is just around the corner.
Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Tuesday, is a Christian celebration that marks the day before Lent begins. Lent is the 40 day period leading up to Easter, and is a period of reflection and abstention from luxuries. Rich foods such as eggs had been forbidden during Lent, and so people started making pancakes as a way of using them up before Lent began.
Religion and tradition aside, Pancake Tuesday is also a great day to get creative with your pancakes. We’re not just talking about flavours — we’re talking pancake art.
Drawing shapes with pancake batter adds a little extra fun and gives the whole family something to look forward to at breakfast. Have a look at these amazing pancake creations.
