Meeting Point: Teneriffe

Over the past 15 years, Newstead and Teneriffe have undergone a dramatic transformation from a run-down former industrial suburb, to a desirable, upmarket riverside precinct.

This area is now one of Brisbane’s most desirable and iconic destinations.

On this walking tour, you will visit several food and drink venues along the way and sample a mix of savoury and sweet products.

There is also a variety of food educational demonstrations, such as chocolate making techniques. You will also learn about how the venues were established and why the owners are so passionate about their craft.

Throughout the tour, your host will also point out places of interest, and tell historical stories about Newstead’s connection to World War 2, including walking past Australia’s largest submarine base, as well as an existing air raid shelter.

The tour price covers all food samples, but cannot accommodate for gluten or dairy free.
A serving of alcohol is included, with non-alcoholic alternatives available. We do not recommend customers under the age of 18 to attend.

The meeting point is a short walk from the Teneriffe Ferry Wharf.

This event covered history of the area as well as great venues to sample the fare of the establishment we were visiting. Although it was a rainy day it didn't dampen our spirits and enjoyment of the tour.

Rate 4.5. Karen was a friendly and informative hostess. Really enjoyed the variety of places we visited. In particular loved the Murielle Vuiilleumier Swiss Chocolatier shop. Very interesting and the owners were so welcoming. Looking forward to the next Foodi experience.

Felicity was a friendly, engaging and informative tour guide. Terence was friendly and informative too. We enjoyed the chosen venues as we had never been to any of the them. The walking pace enabled us to absorb the local area and chat. Newstead is a suburb that we just don't visit as long term Brisbane residents. However we will be back.

Very well conducted by Karen. Just the right amount of walking and the food types and portions were perfect. Our fellow guests with specific dietary needs were well catered for as well.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this food tour. Karen was an excellent tour guide and all the four stops were delicious and we have already rebooked for your West End brunch tour. I will highly recommend these tours to my friends and family. We had the best day, an excellent guide with a lovely manner about her and Jaren clearly has a flair for the job and knowledge of the area.

Karen was an engaging guide and the group we joined was very friendly and good company. Good mix of foodi interest and history of the old wool stores precinct and would recommend. The chocolates and gelati definitely the highlights.

I really enjoyed seeing different places in Newstead/Tenerife. Anthony was an excellent host and was very informative about the. History of the area. I enjoyed the chocolate shop, London Bar, 360 greengrocer. Not particularly impressed with the gelato shop as other customers came in and the lady was keen to get us out!

The best food tour I have ever done! Love the idea of doing desert first. Would be even better if it started with a coffee tasting.
