An alternative High Tea experience in Fremantle. Time: Saturdays 2pm
Duration: 3 hours
Meeting Point: Fremantle Town Hall 8 William St Fremantle

The charm of high tea is becoming increasingly popular, with many hotels, tea rooms and historic buildings offering an array of treats.

Foodi have gathered together a variety of Fremantle high tea elements to bring you an alternative high tea experience with a difference.

On this walking tour, you’ll visit a variety of venues, each with their own samples to share and history to tell – one of which has won awards for the best sausage rolls in WA, and the best quiche in Australia.

You’ll also enjoy a range of delicious sweets, as well as some old world teas and sparkling wines from the Margaret River.

This tour will finish on the famous Cappuccino strip, but not before showing you the iconic Fremantle markets where you'll have the opportunity to shop after the tour.

There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.

Please Note: This tour can not accommodate for gluten free, dairy free or vegan.

It was so great! Definitely exceeded expectations! We were lucky enough to have Martin as our tour guide. He is the kind of rare person that you instantly warm to and feel like you've known for years. He was fun, friendly and knowledgeable about both food and Freo. The places that he took us were all chosen carefully and for good reason. I loved that he supported small, local, business and that every location came with a story. Martin was very generous with his own story too - I think everyone in our group would have been happy to chat to him all afternoon and just stay at our first location! All in all, a gorgeous afternoon out. Can't wait to try another tour :)

I thought that Martyn was very informative and a very friendly guide. He told about some of the businesses that I didn't know about even though I had grown up in Fremantle. Enjoyed his company.

Martyn clearly loves what he does - let him lead you on a light-hearted saunter through the streets, flavours and history of Fremantle ... he's chatty, informative and fun - a great host and fine accompaniment to one of the most interesting high teas you could wish for. Exercise and fun, sweet and savory, wine and chocolate ... what's not to love?

A friend and I enjoyed this tour yesterday with Martyn. He was a wonderful guide and full of information about the area and the foods we tasted. His background in wine made it extra interesting. The places we visited were good quality and the staff were friendly. The length was a good amount of time as well as the actual distance we covered. I would recommend this tour. Especially if you are wanting a nice relaxed way to spend an afternoon out in Freo.

Was dissapointed as It was advertised as a high tea .. not a fine China cup or petite food in site paper cups at one place .. .The guide was pretty good ...1st place was a bit rushed .

Fantastic walking tour which I would highly recommend to anyone. Martyn was the most informative, funniest and entertaining guide. I loved the concept of visiting different spaces for varying aspects of the high tea. I learnt about alot of new venues in Fremantle that I cant wait to revisit. Thanks for a great afternoon.

I like how the guide, Martyn, knew history about how High Teas started and educated us along the way. This made the experience interesting as well as delicious. We went to places I have never been to before and all locations were only a short walk, just enough distance to digest the yummies before tasting at the next stop.

A fantastic day. Martyn an excellent host.
Our Foodi guide Martyn (with a "y") was great. He showed us quirky, independently owned shops, with a cool history or story and a special dish for us to try at each. Martyn 's definitely passionate about what he does and he always had a few (or a lot) of words to say to the the group about the history of the place or the dish we were trying. Highly recommended tour and tour guide.
