Chocolate and Dessert Lovers Walking TourMelbourne
For the insatiable sweet tooth, who never met a dessert they didn't like.
Time: Monthly Saturdays, 10.30am
Duration: 2.5-3 hours
Meeting Point: Bourke St, Melbourne CBD
If you’ve an insatiable sweet tooth and would like nothing more than to surround yourself with fine chocolate and desserts for a morning, then this is the tour for you.
This tour is up to three hours of sweet tasting goodness. At each of the venues on the day, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the history of each confectionery and dessert, and gather an insight into the venues history and signature products.
Your tour guides are locals and sweets aficionados, who have a wealth of knowledge to share with you on the day. And of course, you will be able to sample the creamy chocolates and delicious desserts as you go, and gain insights into the history of sweet treats and Melbourne's laneways and boutique arcades.
There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.
The tour price includes the services of a knowledgeable and friendly guide, and all tastings on the day. Not every venue on the tour may be able to cater for gluten or dairy free, so please indicate your requirements at the time of booking. This tour is not suitable for children under the age of 13 years.
If you’re looking for a few hours of fun on the weekend, meeting new people, and discovering new things about your city, Foodi tours will show you where to start.
Foodi and in particular our tour guide, Alf, should be proud of the diversity of their dessert tour selection. Melbourne has so many things on offer that they have done really well to choose particularly notable and varied locations to showcase. While the tour doesn't cover an *extensive* amount of locations, the ones that they have chosen are each unique and impressive in their own way. What's more, probably my favourite aspect of our tour was our extremely informative and enthusiastic tour guide, Alf. As a Melbourne native it was truly wonderful to learn more about my city and develop a greater appreciation for it through its history. 5/5 by Dedrey Erng 3-2-2020

Covered a great variety of sweets. I liked that we walked various parts of CBD and not just one or two blocks. Alf was a very friendly and informative tour guide. Would recommend this tour to friends. 5/5 by Karen Giles 24-9-2019

Great tour guide - everything was very well organised and alobgside going to some beautiful stores and having nice samples, the guide showed us lots of interesting places along the way including providing some history of the architecture, laneways and arcades which really added to the tour. 5/5 by Marianne Potter 3-7-2019
After doing a FOODI Chocolate walking tour this was next on our list to do! and it did not disappoint!!
With the best tour guide going round in Melbourne - Alf, we had the most enjoyable day.
Alf was full of not only knowledge of each shop we went into but the history of Melbourne and passing buildings, laneways and restaurants.
With chocolate tastings, cupcakes, macrons, hot chocolate and donuts it was well worth the guided tour to walk off the sweets while you consumed them!
We enjoyed the shops we visited so much we returned the next day to purchase some more treats to take home.
We only had a small group on our tour which was perfect. It made it easier to hear and listen to our tour guide about all things Sweets, Desserts and Chocolate in Melbourne.
Will be defiantly coming back for more walking tours with Foodi 5/5 by Shirley Prosser 27-5-2019
