High tea is a much loved social activity here in Australia. It’s a chance to meet up with friends and family, and catch up as you take your pick of delectable food and drink. We had a poke around for the best high tea places around Sydney, and came up with the following five:

The Tea Room is truly an exquisite location for high tea. It is marked by the soaring ceilings and intricate detailing that characterises nineteenth century architecture, with ornate furnishings to match. This Christmas, The Tea Room is hosting Decadent December until the 24th, featuring a special Christmas high tea menu priced from $39 per person.

The Victoria Room is an underground restaurant and bar that offers an amazing high tea on the weekends. It boasts a timeless Victorian design, and exquisite tea sets, with several varieties of their signature high tea menu starting from $45. Bookings are essential.

The Tea Salon is a perfect little resting spot located inside Westfield Sydney CBD. There are ten different flavours of their delicious scones, which are also available for takeaway, accompanied by a wide range of premium loose-leaf teas. Bookings are accepted for high teas only, which are priced at $43 per person.

The Westin Sydney features a very popular Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea menu, which is Alice in Wonderland themed. The desserts and other food items are carefully crafted to resemble iconic items such as the Mad Hatter’s hat, and the Rabbit’s pocket watch, guaranteed to delight the biggest Alice fans.

This beautiful hotel offers afternoon tea in partnership with fine tea sets courtesy of Wedgwood, beginning at $55 per person. Palm Court is located in the grand lobby level of The Langham and offers spectacular views of the Western Harbour while you enjoy a light lunch.
