Time: Saturdays 12pm
Duration: 3 hours
Meeting Point: East End Terrace
Foodi have gathered together the best high tea elements in the CBD to bring you a modern progressive high tea experience.
High Tea was once a meal for the working man, taken standing up or sitting on tall stalls, which is where the 'high' comes from.
The charm of high tea is becoming increasingly popular across Adelaide, with many hotels, tea rooms and historic buildings offering an array of treats.
This tour will explore some of Adelaide's hidden gems, and in addition to high tea, you'll learn about the art and culture of the city.
You'll visit a variety of venues, each with their own history to tell and samples to share, including a mix of sweet and savoury options. Sparkling wine will be made available for purchase at most venues.
Your friendly host will discuss how tea was established and came to Australia, as well as the history of high tea, afternoon tea and cream tea.
During the tour, you'll also discover the old East End Markets whilst walking through Adelaide's beautiful streets, and finish off along North Terrace.
There will be some walking involved on the day as the tour progresses from venue to venue, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.
The High Tea Walking Tour cannot accommodate vegan or dairy free/lactose intolerance diets.
A minimum of 4 people are required for the tour to proceed.

The venues were really good. I had only been to T2 beore, but itís down here I enjoy going so I didnít mind. Their were generous servings of food and drink at all the venues and the staff were all really welcoming and knowledgeable. Really liked it and the places we visited. Was great to spend Aubrey's last tour with her coz I've always liked her and enjoyed the 3 tours I've done with her as our host. She's a great Foodi tour guide and I'm sorry to hear she is leaving. Goodbye and good luck Aubrey 5/5 by Bronwyn Rolls 19-2-2018

It was nice to meet Laura again (for the Brunch tour the week before, I enjoyed meeting with Yolanda again :) ), she brings in a lot of information about the history and art and she is such a foody herself, she loves cooking and eating and having a guide who fully enjoys makes it all the more pleasant. 5/5 by Deborah Latreuille 14-1-2018
Well run and timed. Laura was great. Good choice of foods overall. 4/5 by Bruce Amos 13-1-2018
It was an enjoyable tour and it was great to go to places in Adelaide I hadn't been to before. Anna is very good at her job, experienced and fun. Also the whole booking and reminder process is very good. 4/5 by Deborah Jaensch 19-12-2017
I particularly liked the fact that there were only 6 people on the tour. It certainly made it comfortable and ease of conversation. Other foodi tours we have on have been so big it became onerous. 5/5 by Marty Azzopardi 3-12-2017
I thought the tour was great.. Some of the stops were interesting, not as high tea like as I thought it would be, deconstruction high tea I think... Over all the day was gorgeous and was a great way to meet new people. Audrey was able to tell us some great facts about the old fruit and vegetable market. 4/5 by Tenae Colmer 10-11-2017
Well organised, friendly companions-and discovering places that we didn't know existed in our own city was a bonus! 5/5 by Stella Edwards 8-10-2017

Really enjoyable experience, lots of food and tea, good combination of savoury and sweet 5/5 by Lydia Kairl 3-7-2017
Fun, great to find out about little gems in Adelaide. Good length of walking. Loved East End Cellars and food provided. All food good. 4/5 by Dianne Glouftsis 19-6-2017
Kerry was a great guide. Unfortunately two of the food places were not ready for us when we arrived leaving us to feel unwanted. When doing previous tours I know the places that welcome us and even take time to tell me something about their company/food will get my business again....so those that don't don't make an impression and therefore I won't go back.
In general the food was excellent.Well organized and food was suitable for a high tea all within close locations - aside from the two hiccups there isn't much to improve. 4/5 by Pamela van der Ploeg 21-5-2017
A great way to spend an afternoon taking in some interesting history, observing little things around Adelaide, and having some lovely food. Having the venues as a surprise added to the excitement and enjoyment. Our guide Kerry was very engaging. 5/5 by Ainslie Derrick Roberts 20-5-2017
