High Tea was once a meal for the working man, taken standing up or sitting on tall stalls, which is where the ‘high’ comes from. Today, it is more commonly known as a meal of tea, sandwiches, scones and cake.
The charm of high tea is becoming increasingly popular, with many hotels, tea rooms and historic buildings offering an array of treats.
Foodi have gathered together the best high tea elements in Fremantle to bring you a high tea experience with a difference.
On this walking tour, you’ll visit a variety of venues, each with their own samples to share and history to tell – one of which has won awards for the best sausage rolls in WA, and the best quiche in Australia.
You’ll also enjoy a range of delicious sweets, as well as some old world teas and sparkling wines from the Margaret River.
This tour will finish on the famous Cappuccino strip, but not before taking you through the iconic Fremantle markets where we’ll show you where to get the tastiest jams in town.
There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.

I like how the guide, Martyn, knew history about how High Teas started and educated us along the way. This made the experience interesting as well as delicious. We went to places I have never been to before and all locations were only a short walk, just enough distance to digest the yummies before tasting at the next stop. 5/5 by Katelyn Lush 15-2-2017
A fantastic day. Martyn an excellent host. 5/5 by SUSAN GROVES 12-2-2017
Our Foodi guide Martyn (with a "y") was great. He showed us quirky, independently owned shops, with a cool history or story and a special dish for us to try at each. Martyn 's definitely passionate about what he does and he always had a few (or a lot) of words to say to the the group about the history of the place or the dish we were trying. Highly recommended tour and tour guide. 5/5 by Fernando Giaimo 12-2-2017

Martyn our host did a great job with his knowledge of local history, products, and places to visit. More of a rustic tour rather than an elegant high tea, but still a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon. 4/5 by jennifer spencer 25-9-2016
The amount of food we ate was good.

I enjoyed discovering areas of Perth that I had not been aware of. I enjoyed the number of locations and walking between spots. Enjoyed the tour of The Terrace ( I used to work in that building 20 years ago). Terrace tea and scones were fab. Loved the finale at Trustee. 4/5 by Kate Bone 9-3-2016
