The history and culture surrounding chocolate has become an art-form that is the epitome of refinement and the height of luxury. Learning to taste chocolate and appreciate its complexity requires a finesse that comes with years of practice.

This tour is a chance to discover some of Brisbane’s best chocolatiers and gain insight into their craft. You’ll learn about how chocolate is produced, from a bean on the cacao tree through to the hands of the chocolate makers; and the terminology used by industry experts to describe the taste, smell, and forms of chocolate.

You’ll be able to sample the chocolates at each venue you visit, where you will also learn the elements of a proper chocolate tasting; the different cacao percentages, and how they affect the taste. Discounts on purchases are also available at a number of the venues.

You will visit four venues around the city, with a break in between. There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it. The tour price includes the sit-down break, and all chocolate tastings on the day. This tour is not gluten or dairy free.

If you’re looking for a few hours of fun on the weekend, to meet new people, and discover new things about your city, Foodi tours will show you where to start.

I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was fun and a great way to be introduced to a city through a walking tour. Got the chance to go interesting cafes and shops that I otherwise would not come across in my short time there.

I enjoyed the tour and thought it was a good experience to visit the different chocolate shops around Brisbane's inner city. There was just the right amount of chocolate tasting, anymore and it would have been too much. Our tour guide David was very knowledgeable and was passionate about chocolate. An experience that I would recommend to others.

Had a great time meeting the rest of the group, was very enjoyable and not to far to walk from each shop. David was a great tour guide; would highly recommend and am looking forward to experinceing other tours on offer.

Very good, Dave explained everything very well. I especially enjoyed out visit to the Chocolate Moments shop, so many beautiful chocolates it was difficult to choose which ones to buy. There was a good mx of venues, we tried dippping chocolate with churros, was able to buy a hot drink here. Then it was tasting and then drinking different chocs at other venues. Then last, to another Chocolate Moments outlet to try and buy if we had missed one of the chocolates at their first shop. Not too far to walk and at a comfortable pace. I certainly have a taste for really good chocolate now. All very informative.

Great way to spend a Saturday morning. David, the tour leader was excellent. Very personable, brought a group of total strangers together and had us all talking and mixing it up very early in the day. He had good knowledge of the history of chocolate and the present day processes. Heather from Chocolate Moments was great - very passionate and very funny.

The tour was brilliant but think the second last store wasn't on par with the rest.

Very informative, but I was starting from a low information base, that is, my knowledge of the production of chocolate from the seed was poor.
