The 2.5 hour tour starts and finishes at the Brisbane Visitors Information Centre, Queen Street Mall, from 10am on Saturday. The tour visits 8 different venues with a hot chocolate break half way through.
All chocolate tastings and the hot chocolate break are included in the price along with discounts at a number of the venues if you decide that you need to take some home with you for further research.
Apart from tasting all kinds of high quality chocolate, and meeting lots of interesting people, you will learn:
The deep, dark, mysterious, and interesting history of chocolate.
How chocolate is crafted. From the cacao tree to the cocoa bean, through the hands of the chocolate maker and chocolatier.
How to tell good chocolate from bad using sight, smell, feel, and the ingredients list.
How to taste and appreciate chocolate. From the first smell, through the first bite, the taste as it melts in the mouth, and the final notes.
Lots of other practical tips such as how to store chocolate, how long you can store it, how to tell when it's past best and much more.
Tours take place on Saturday morning from 10am until around 12.30pm. Any extra tours which run due to high demand may start a little later.
Your host is Krystle, an experienced tour guide and chocolate aficionado.
Please bring comfortable walking shoes, and an umbrella if rain looks likely.
There is quite a lot of walking on the tour. Although in no way arduous we recommend that participants are mobile and at least 10 years of age.
The tour was most professional, Krystal ..most lovely lady. Most informative, we had a super time, have told many people ..we had the best time Thanks Foodi

Variety was good except for maybe the gelati store, cooler day meant I wasn't feeling like a cold sorbet etc , although lovely to taste test, how would I get it home without melting? Great sampling and good variety of choccie shops, all with friendly staff. Gerard Gosen is an inspiration! Our hot chocolate break was wonderful. Felecity has a lovely, bright, bubbly, professional personality and made me feel comfortable and totally into it's good to eat chocolate, not that I really had a problem before...heehee.....she is an asset. It was fun and great. Learned a lot about chocolate, and Jessica was a great host. The only complain we had was the chocolates nearly killed us. :) 5/5 by TAN KAI YAN 8-7-2014
Great way to spend a few hours in the city. Our guide Krystle was lovely - friendly, approachable and very informative. The Noosa chocolate shop was sublime and the best chocolate we had. A little bit more variety would be good. The Gellatissimo was a bit random. 4/5 by Fiona Stroud 29-6-2014

Excellent tour, great way to spend your Saturday around the city!!
The tour showed me some great places that I wouldn't typically even know about it wasn't your usual big name chocolate venues which was great!
Loved the sit down in between and the host was lovely :) 5/5 by Beryl Colliss 26-6-2014

We had a marvellous time on the Chocolate Walking Tour, hearing about the history of chocolate and sampling (and purchasing) much chocolate along the way. We took the tour on my mum's 60th and Krystle went absolutely above and beyond to ensure Mum had a special time including organising a personalised birthday cake (which made Mum a little teary) and meeting our gluten-free needs. Listening to Gerrard Gosens speak about chocolate was a real highlight. Krystle was an engaging and considerate host and I look forward to taking future tours with her. 5/5 by Hayley Roberts 17-6-2014
