Chocolate is the food of love, and the taste of passion.
Time: Weekly, 10am Saturdays
Duration: 3 hours
Meeting Point: Brisbane Visitors Information Centre, Queen Street Mall
The history and culture surrounding chocolate has become an artform that is the epitome of refinement and the height of luxury. Learning to taste chocolate and appreciate its complexity requires a finesse that comes with years of practise.
This tour is a chance to discover some of Brisbane’s best chocolatiers and gain insight into their craft. You’ll learn about how chocolate is produced, from a bean on the cacao tree through to the hands of the chocolate makers; and the terminology used by industry experts to describe the taste, smell, and forms of chocolate.
You’ll be able to sample the chocolates at each venue you visit, where you will also learn the elements of a proper chocolate tasting; the different cacao percentages, and how they affect the taste. Discounts on purchases are also available at a number of the venues.
You will visit four venues around the city, with a break in between. There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it. The tour price includes the sit-down break, and all chocolate tastings on the day. This tour is not gluten or dairy free.
If you’re looking for a few hours of fun on the weekend, to meet new people, and discover new things about your city, Foodi tours will show you where to start.

Great social event as well as a great chocolate experience. David was a very good guide. Thanks for everything, it was a great gift for Claudia's birthday. 5/5 by Peter Boyd 17-4-2016
All the six shops / cafes were awesome!!! The first one is really impressive cuz I don't really taste chocolate when I eat it but this time I tasted six different dips for churros and enjoyed so much. Other than the San Churro, there were lots of different kinds of chocolate and ways of using it so I cannot appreciate enough. 4/5 by Sachie Togashiki 14-4-2016
