Time: Saturday 10 am
Duration: 2.5 hours
Meeting Point: Queen St Mall, CBD
High Tea was once a meal for the working man, taken standing up or sitting on tall stalls, which is where the ‘high’ comes from. Today, it is more commonly known as an meal of tea, sandwiches, scones and cake.
The charm of high tea is becoming increasingly popular across Brisbane, with many hotels, tea rooms and historic buildings offering an array of treats.
Foodi have gathered together the best high tea elements in the CBD to bring you a high tea experience with a difference.
On this walking tour, you’ll visit a variety of venues, each with their own samples to share and history to tell, including a cocktail demonstration and a glass of sparkling.
Your friendly host will also discuss tea etiquette, and how high tea was established, including its components the quiche, macaron and petit fours.
There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.
Please Note: A serving of alcohol is included in the tour. If you are under 18, there are no non-alcoholic alternatives available.

Refund Policy: Full refunds given with 5 days notice. Dates can be changed with 3 days notice.
Please be advised that although we make every effort to ensure that we accurately represent Foodi's service and products, venues are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to make changes to all samples on tours.
It was a wonderful morning. Loved every moment especially at Room with Roses & the chat from the owner Vicki - could have listened to her all day. 5/5 by Justine Overend 25-7-2016
Monique was a delightful guide, relaxed and helpful information.

As I had not previously visited any of the cafes/bar on our walking tour, I enjoyed the experience. 5/5 by Avril Dennis 20-6-2016
Very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning. Loved the High Tea at Kerry Craigs and the opportunity to browse the collection in the emporium. It was interesting to taste the delicacies at the other places and hear the history. 4/5 by Gwenda Staines 24-5-2016

The places we went were great but I think we could have gone to more in the same time 4/5 by Tracey 9-5-2016
Great concept for high tea lovers. 4/5 by Andrew and Megan 8-5-2016
Kyla was lovely. I thought it was a bit too much of a sugar rush in too short a time. More walking and more history and a bigger gap between food!!! Just ended up feeling a bit sick! But overall I loved it! 4/5 by Mandi Wilson 25-4-2016

great way to discover great hidden secert places 5/5 by Trevor Howden 11-4-2016
We weren't sure how to dress for this tour so probably dress code should be included. It was an extremely hot day and we were standing in the sun listening to our guide which was not comfortable. Le Bon Choix was good with the dessert of your choice and the macaron. Keri Craig sandwiches were a little light on. Would've been great to have a coffee at John miller himself...their coffees are so good! 4/5 by Adrianne Katmadas 1-2-2016
Tour guide was very informative and easy to talk to. Liked the variety of eats and the size of the group was good. 4/5 by Tracey Bartell 31-1-2016

It was lots of fun going to different venues and trying the different foods at each one. I liked learning about the venues and about the food we were eating especially the history of the food. Karen was a lovely and friendly host that made us all feel very comfortable and welcome. 5/5 by Christine Robinson 14-12-2015

It was fun and informative 5/5 by Gail Hargrave 17-10-2015
It was a lovely morning - Karen was a fantastic host, we got to sample plenty of different morsels and visit great cafes - ensuring I'll definitely do another Foodi tour as well as revisit the places on the tour. 5/5 by Rachel Kent 28-9-2015
I felt that the tour was well planned and well thought out and catered to lots of different people. I attended the event with my mother and my younger sister and we were still talking about how great the tour was days later. There was a great selection of locations and our Foodi tour guide had researched the venues and the food history well. The only improvement I can think of is a map of the venues we visited so we could find them again easily to stock up on more tea and cakes! Well worth the money! 5/5 by Michelle Morris 14-9-2015
The last venue we went to was very interesting and enjoyable but didn't see how it related to afternoon tea, may have been better suited to a "hidden venue tour" 3/5 by Rosemarie Gastaldello 23-8-2015
Enjoyed a relaxing morning sampling some delicious food at some out of the way places. Did not know that there were so many of the beat places to eat in the CBD. 4/5 by Michelle Singleton 26-7-2015
5/5 by Chris Birch 26-7-2015
We loved seeing Brisbane in this novel way. Each stop was a little treasure- places we would have bypassed without your help. We went back and collected tea and souvenirs afterwards. will recommend to friends visiting Brisbane. 5/5 by Margot Leeson 19-7-2015
